Zhanรฉ Rambaran, a financial administrator in the Portfolio of the Civil Service, has been awarded the prestigious title of Government Employee of the Year for 2023. Rambaran was chosen from a pool of 12 finalists, each of whom had been named Employee of the Month during the past year. She was specifically recognized for her contributions to the government's strategic goal of delivering exceptional customer service. The Deputy Governorโ€™s Award Programme, established in 2012, honors civil servants who embody the values of passion, integrity, and professionalism, and who demonstrate accountability in delivering the government's broad outcomes to both external and internal customers. ๐Ÿ…

Described as a person who "makes all of our lives better" with an "infectious smile," Rambaran was praised for her crucial role in ensuring timely payments to vendors, upholding government policies and procedures, and supporting the public, economy, community, and families. Gloria McField-Nixon, PoCS Chief Officer, highlighted Rambaran's growth and positive attitude in her civil service career. Upon receiving her award, Rambaran expressed her pride in serving the people of the Islands. Deputy Governor Franz Manderson, who selected the winner, commended all twelve nominees as "world-class civil servants," reflecting the vision of a world-class civil service. ๐Ÿ‘

In addition to the Employee of the Year award, three teams were honored with Moments of Magic awards for outstanding work. These included the e-Government Department for the e-Gov portal, the health ministryโ€™s Steps team for a research project, and WORC for improvements that reduced application processing times by 70%. ๐ŸŽ–๏ธ
