🔨 Woodhouse sentenced to 13 years for violent bar attack

Jonathan Alexander Woodhouse, a 29-year-old resident of Bodden Town, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for wounding with intent. The sentence is in relation to a violent attack at the Carib Cafe last year, which resulted in the death of one man. Although Woodhouse was acquitted of murder charges, he was found guilty of stabbing another man with a 12-inch blade during the brawl. The court heard that Woodhouse, who has a lengthy criminal record including violent offences, instigated the fight alongside his co-accused. 🗡️

Justice Marlene Carter, who handed down the sentence, noted that Woodhouse's victim required 18 stitches for a wound to his left bicep. The man's wife, who was present during the attack, had to help him leave the club, bloodied and afraid. Both are still dealing with the trauma of the attack. A social inquiry report indicated that Woodhouse, a father of two, has a high risk of reoffending as he has not been deterred by previous prison sentences or learned from his past convictions. Justice Carter described the offence as serious while announcing the 13-year sentence. 🏛️

Earlier this year, Shaun Antonio Jackson, one of Woodhouse’s co-defendants, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 31 years for the murder of Randy Kelsey Robinson. The third defendant, Matthew Stefan Glasgow, was acquitted of all charges. ⚖️
