šŸš¢ Unauthorized migrants arrive in Cayman Brac

Five individuals, including an infant, arrived unexpectedly on Cayman Brac aboard an undeclared sailing vessel. The boat, which moored around 150 feet offshore on the northwest coast of Cayman Brac near Scotts Dock, did not have prior clearance or the required manifesto. Customs and Border Control Director Charles Clifford confirmed that the group is currently in the custody of his officers. The nationalities of the individuals, who appear to be from different countries, are being investigated. šŸŒ

Two adults from the group were intercepted after coming ashore on Tuesday. However, Clifford dispelled rumors of irregular migrants roaming around the Brac and taking up residence in the caves. The director did not disclose the claimed countries of origin of the migrants or address speculations that some were from Ethiopia. He emphasized that irregular migration is a global challenge and that there are processes to verify the authenticity of an individual's claimed origin. The Department of Children and Family Services is also involved due to the presence of a baby. šŸ‘¶
