🚔 Two West Bay men arrested for illegal firearm possession after police chase

Two men from West Bay were arrested after a police chase along the West Bay Road and the Esterley Tibbetts Highway. During the pursuit, the suspects allegedly threw a handgun and a loaded magazine out of their car window. The incident occurred around 8pm on Monday when armed officers on proactive patrols noticed a white Toyota Mark II vehicle with two people inside behaving suspiciously. The driver sped off upon seeing the police, leading to a chase that ended with the suspects' car crashing into another vehicle at the Lime Tree Bay roundabout. 🚗

Despite the collision, the suspects continued driving, during which the officers observed them throwing objects from the vehicle. The car was eventually stopped on Town Hall Road, where the two men, aged 24 and 30, were detained and searched. A single round of ammunition was found in the car. A subsequent search of the area where the men were seen discarding objects led to the recovery of a handgun and a loaded magazine. The suspects remain in police custody pending further investigations. No injuries were reported as a result of the collision. 🚔
