🚨 Two men apprehended in Anti-Corruption Commission probe

Two individuals, Douglas Anthony Smith (48) of North Sound Estates and Shaun Michael Abshire Scott (24) of George Town, have been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) investigators. Each man is facing three charges: conspiracy to commit fraud on the government, obtaining property by deception, and being involved in a money laundering arrangement. These charges are in line with the Anti-Corruption Act, the Penal Code, and the Proceeds of Crime Act respectively.🔍

The arrests followed a "complex and protracted investigation" and are not linked to the two other ACC cases disclosed earlier this summer. Both Smith and Scott are scheduled to appear in court at 10:00am on Tuesday, 27 August 2024. The ACC has stated that no additional details will be released at this time.⚖ī¸
