🚔 Two boys arrested in connection with minister's crash

Two young boys have been arrested on suspicion of causing a road obstruction that led to a car crash involving Labour Minister Dwayne Seymour. The boys are believed to have moved an excavator and placed its arm into the roadway on Anton Bodden Drive, Bodden Town, which the minister collided with while driving a government-owned vehicle. The incident occurred around 12:30 am on Thursday, 8 August. The police are yet to release any information about the minister's blood alcohol level at the time of the crash. 🚧

According to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS), a report had been made on the evening prior to the crash about someone "interfering with the same heavy equipment". The owner had secured the excavator, but it appears to have been moved again before the crash. A member of the public reported the obstruction to 911 moments before the collision. Seymour suffered a head injury in the crash and was treated at the hospital, where a blood sample was taken for investigative purposes. đŸĨ

The police, suspecting that the culprits might be juveniles from the Bodden Town area, arrested two male juveniles on suspicion of carrying out a reckless and negligent act. They have been released on bail pending further investigations. The police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to come forward. 🚨
