A 65-year-old tourist from New Zealand lost his life while snorkelling off Governors Beach in the Cayman Islands on Wednesday evening. The man was visiting the islands with his family when the tragic incident occurred. According to local police, the emergency services were alerted around 7:15 pm after the man was found unresponsive in the water near a resort on Seven Mile Beach. 🌊

Reportedly, the man had decided to return to the shore on his own while the rest of his family continued snorkelling. Upon their return, they were unable to locate him and soon discovered him still in the water. Bystanders at the scene helped to administer CPR until the arrival of an ambulance. The man was then transported to George Town Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police have stated that inquiries into the circumstances of the death are ongoing, but it is not considered suspicious at this time.
