Marc Edward Chin, a 36-year-old former public officer from Newlands, Keron Leanard Watler, a 30-year-old from East End, and Shomar Peabo Bazil, a 28-year-old from Lower Valley, have all been charged with corruption-related offences. The charges were laid by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) following what officials described as "complex and protracted investigations". Chin, who appears to have previously worked for the Cayman Islands Airports Authority based on social media posts, is facing three counts under the Anti-Corruption Act, including breach of trust, fraud on the government, and conspiracy to commit fraud on the government, as well as misconduct in public office. Watler is charged with two counts under the Anti-Corruption Act, breach of trust and conspiracy to commit fraud on the government. Bazil is charged with one count under the Anti-Corruption Act, bribery of a public officer. These charges follow those laid against a former civil servant and a local shutter fitter for fraud, corruption offences and money laundering. āš–ļø
