🔪 Second violent attack in two weeks shocks Cayman Brac

The peaceful tranquility of Cayman Brac was shattered for the second time in two weeks as another violent attack occurred on the island. The assault, which involved a machete, took place in the parking lot of Coral Isle Restaurant on South Side Road West. This follows a stabbing incident at La Esperanza bar on Watering Place Road on January 28. The suspects apprehended by the police in both instances hail from Grand Cayman. 🏝️

According to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS), they received a report of an assault involving a bladed weapon around noon on Thursday, February 8. Upon arrival, officers found an injured man on the ground near a vehicle and another man, armed with a machete, behaving aggressively towards him. The officers managed to recover the machete and arrested a 28-year-old man from West Bay, who is currently residing on the Brac. The suspect was charged with assault ABH, possession of an offensive weapon, and damage to property. The injured man was taken to Faith Hospital for treatment and was later discharged. 🚔

The suspect involved in the previous stabbing incident at La Esperanza is a 46-year-old woman from George Town. The RCIPS is urging anyone who witnessed the incident on Thursday or has any relevant information to contact the Cayman Brac Police Station.
