🚧 RCIPS announces road closures due to severe weather
🌧️ Major roads in George Town and West Bay affected by flooding
Due to severe weather conditions, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) has announced the closure of several roads on Grand Cayman. Affected areas include North West Point Road in the vicinity of Cracked Conch, the junction of North West Point Road and Town Hall Road, Eastern Ave/North Church Street, Bodden Road, Mary Street, and Broiler Road. The RCIPS has provided maps indicating the locations of the closed roads, marked by red dots. 🗺️
The RCIPS also reported that barricades, which were put in place for the safety of the public during the storm, have been removed by members of the public. The reasons behind this act remain unclear. The police have issued a warning against such actions, stating that anyone found to be obstructing police in the execution of their duties by removing or pulling aside police barricades will face arrest. 🚔
