🚨 Police hunt for armed robbers in George Town

Authorities in George Town are on the hunt for at least three men believed to be involved in two attempted armed robberies in the city center on Friday night. The first incident occurred at a restaurant on North Sound Road, where three masked men, one armed with a handgun, attempted a robbery. A quick-thinking worker fled to the rear of the restaurant as the suspects entered, causing them to flee the scene without firing any shots or stealing anything. The suspects were all of slim build, with the armed man described as around 5'6" tall, with a dark complexion, and dressed entirely in black.

Shortly after the first incident, police received a report of a second attempted robbery outside a money transfer business on Shedden Road. A security officer had just exited an armoured truck when two men in dark clothing and hoodies approached, one of them armed with a handgun. The security officer immediately approached a nearby police vehicle, causing the suspects to flee. Again, no shots were fired, no one was injured, and nothing was taken. The suspects in this case were described as around 5'11" and 6'2" respectively, and of slim and medium build. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
