600 ex-government employees may lose their pensions due to incomplete paperwork

👵 Pension payments at risk for non-compliant retirees

The Public Service Pensions Board (PSPB) has warned that around 600 pensioners could have their payments stopped next month if they do not complete their annual Pension Continuation Confirmation Certificate (PCCC). Earlier this year, over 2,600 PCCCs were sent out, but approximately 600 have not been returned, putting these pensioners in violation of the law. If the necessary paperwork is not completed by 10 July, payments will be suspended, and these individuals will start missing their monthly pension payments. 📝

The PSPB is urging the public to help ensure that these pensioners return their PCCC as soon as possible to avoid any interruption in their retirement income. The PCCC initiative is a common practice internationally for major pension plans, ensuring the long-term sustainability of these plans and protecting against overpayments and potential fraud. Pensioners who need assistance in completing their PCCC can seek help from the PSPB staff. 📞

Once the PCCC has been completed and logged, monthly payments will continue as scheduled. Pensioners who need further information or help with the potential suspension of payments are encouraged to contact the PSPB Pension Administration and Member Services Department. 🏢
