Work has started on a new parking facility at Owen Roberts International Airport, which will provide an additional 300 spaces. Located to the east of the terminal, the Cayman Islands Airport Authority (CIAA) has stated that the facility will feature a modern parking management system and improved lighting for safety and convenience. The current parking facilities have reached their limit, particularly during weekends, necessitating the expansion.

The new parking area is designed to alleviate congestion, provide convenient access, and improve overall airport parking efficiency. It will also cater to airport workers, including airline employees and other service providers. The cost of the project has not been disclosed, but it forms part of the ongoing redevelopment of Grand Cayman’s airport. CIAA Board Chair Johann Moxam described the new parking facility as a "vital enhancement" to the Cayman's primary gateway, reflecting the commitment to improving travel experience for residents and accommodating the increasing number of passengers.
