🚑 New temporary EMS station opens at Bodden Town church

The Health Services Authority (HSA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Pastor Winston Rose, has established a new temporary emergency medical services (EMS) station at the Church of God Chapel in Bodden Town. The station, which is already operational, serves the Eastern Districts from 7:00am to 7:00pm, seven days a week. 🏥

Last year, the HSA acquired six new ambulances equipped with advanced medical equipment and design upgrades to enhance patient safety and experience, as well as fleet efficiency, reliability, and response times. The HSA has also doubled the space for EMS operations at the George Town Hospital and has plans to make the Bodden Town Chapel Community Centre the permanent location of the Bodden Town EMS station once construction is complete. Currently, there are three EMS stations: at the George Town Hospital and the district health centres in North Side and West Bay. 🚑

The HSA has also provided training opportunities through its Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Programme, a fully funded and accredited program for Caymanians seeking to start a career in EMS. Graduates of this program have facilitated the department's expansion. The new temporary Bodden Town location will house one of the eight HSA ambulances and will service the area from Prospect to East End. HSA CEO Lizzette Yearwood expressed gratitude to the church for providing the location to serve the Eastern District community while the permanent location is under construction. 🙏
