👥 New appointments to Caymanian immigration boards and tribunal

The Caymanian Cabinet has approved the appointment of several new members to the Caymanian Status and Permanent Residency Board (CSPR), the Business Staffing Plan Board (BSP), and the Immigration Appeals Tribunal (IAT). The appointments come after significant delays in the processing of PR and status applications due to these boards barely meeting this year. The terms of appointment for the previous members expired in September, coinciding with Dwayne Seymour's resignation as labour minister. 📜

However, with the new UPM government, Seymour has returned to the labour ministry and his choices for the boards have been approved by the Cabinet. These new appointees are expected to serve until September 2025. The new members are said to bring a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with immigration and labour markets. Seymour expressed his gratitude to the new members for their commitment to upholding the Immigration Act. 🏛️
