šŸšØ Murder charges finally laid in year-old West Bay homicide case

Over a year after the murder of George 'Ian' Duffell, a 54-year old man from Bodden Town has been charged. Kirk Lindsay Watler was arrested last year on suspicion of killing Duffell during an altercation at a West Bay address. He appeared in court on Wednesday, 29 November and was remanded in custody. He is accused of stabbing Duffell, who died on 14 October 2022 during a fight at a yard on Birch Tree Hill Road. šŸ—”ļø

Police had made a fresh appeal for witnesses last month on the first anniversary of Duffell's death. The case had remained open for over a year with no charges laid until now. Watler is expected to next appear in Grand Court on 8 December. The court proceedings will hopefully bring some closure to this long-unsolved case. āš–ļø
