👨‍⚖️ McKeeva Bush trial to commence Tuesday

McKeeva Bush, a backbench MP for the government, is set to stand trial on Tuesday following several days of delays and legal discussions. A jury of ten, including three alternates, was selected on Thursday morning, ready for the case to open next week. The charges against Bush, which he has strongly denied, include rape and sexual assault based on historic allegations dating back to 2000. Eloise Marshall KC from the UK has been appointed by the director of public prosecutions to prosecute the case. Bush's defense is led by local attorney Dennis Brady. An earlier request by the defense for an adjournment until mid-July was denied, preventing Bush from adding a KC from the UK to his legal team.
