🚨 Man bitten by police dog during arrest attempt

A man from West Bay, suspected of causing a domestic disturbance at a location off Selkirk Drive in George Town, was bitten by a police dog during an arrest attempt. The man had reportedly been behaving aggressively and threatening a woman he knew at the address, as well as causing damage to property. Upon police arrival, the man had already left the scene. However, officers later spotted a man matching the suspect's description in the area.👮‍♂️

Despite officers' attempts to approach and question him, the man attempted to flee, leading to a brief foot chase. The man continued to resist arrest even when cornered by the officers, prompting the deployment of a police K-9. The man was bitten during the arrest but was successfully taken into custody. He was treated for his injuries at the Cayman Islands Hospital before being formally charged with two counts of damage to property, causing fear or provocation of violence, criminal trespass, and resisting arrest. He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.🏥
