A 29-year-old man from Bodden Town was arrested after he was seen throwing a bag containing a gun out of his car during a police chase. According to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS), the incident occurred on Wednesday, 10 January, when officers attempted to stop the man's vehicle on Pedro Castle Road. Instead of complying, the man tried to evade the police, resulting in a collision with a marked police vehicle before he drove onto a nearby property. šŸš“

During the pursuit, officers observed the man throwing a bag from his vehicle. Upon retrieval, they found a firearm inside. The man, who had attempted to flee on foot, was soon apprehended on a road off Pedro Castle Road. A subsequent search of the man and his vehicle revealed a quantity of drugs. The suspect was arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of ganja with intent to supply, and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.
