👔 Kenneth Bryan steps in as acting Deputy Premier for a week

Tourism Minister Kenneth Bryan has been appointed to act as Deputy Premier for a week, starting from Wednesday, 13 March. The temporary appointment, part of an initiative to foster leadership development and provide valuable experience to Cabinet members, was announced by Premier Juliana O’Connor-Connolly. Bryan will step into the role while Deputy Premier André Ebanks attends business and government meetings in Washington DC. The move is seen as a chance for Bryan to gain an in-depth understanding of the duties and obligations associated with the post. 🏛️

Bryan will continue his tourism work during this period, including his role as the chairman of the Caribbean Tourism Organization. Expressing his honour at accepting the temporary position, Bryan said the experience would deepen his understanding of the senior leadership role and enable him to make a greater contribution to the people of the Cayman Islands. This isn't the first time a Cabinet member has acted as Deputy Premier for a limited period. Premier O’Connor-Connolly has previously appointed Planning Minister Jay Ebanks in a similar capacity. 🏖️
