🔍 Jurors inspect crime scene of gambling shop murder

The Grand Court in George Town visited the scene of a murder case involving defendants Justin Kyle Jackson and Eric Brian Williams Soto. The visit was part of the trial for the murder of Harry Elliott, who was killed during a robbery at a gambling shop on School Road. The jurors, accompanied by Justice Cheryll Richards, lawyers, court officials, and the defendants, were shown key details of the crime scene by Detective Sergeant Russell These. The shop, now a tailoring business, was the location where Jackson allegedly fired the fatal shot. Both defendants have denied murder charges but admitted to being the individuals caught on CCTV footage at the scene. 🕵️‍♂️

Following the site visit, a witness who was present during the murder testified that the robbers did not enter the shop before a shot was fired. The witness claimed to have heard one of the men announce a robbery before hearing a gunshot. The witness did not see the men in the shop, but saw them on the CCTV footage. The witness denied telling police that the voice of the robber sounded like a child, insisting he could not identify the voice. Detective Sergeant These later explained how the CCTV footage helped police track the suspects' getaway vehicle. The case is ongoing. 🚔
