Swimmer Jordan Crooks has made the Cayman Islands proud by qualifying for the Semi-finals in the Men's 50m Freestyle at the Olympics. This achievement makes him the second swimmer from the Cayman Islands to reach the semifinal rounds in multiple events at the Olympics. Crooks completed his heat in 21.51 seconds, breaking his own national long-course record by two-tenths of a second and marking the second-fastest time of the 74 swimmers in the Heats. The Semi-finals are set to take place later today. πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ

Reflecting on his performance, Crooks said, "It was a good swim. I think it can be, hopefully, a little bit faster and I’m grateful to have a PB (personal best). So regardless of what happens, I’m just grateful for that and just keep moving forward." In the last of 10 heats, Crooks gave a tough competition to the eventual winner Cameron McEvoy from Australia, finishing just 0.19 seconds behind him. Earlier this week, Crooks also advanced to the Semi-finals in the 100-meter Freestyle, where he finished thirteenth overall. However, he did not qualify for the Finals. πŸ…
