A 26-year-old man from George Town has been charged with two counts of possession of an unlicensed firearm following a vehicle search by the police. The incident occurred on Friday, 8 March, on Shedden Road. The police found several rounds of ammunition, part of a firearm, a quantity of cash, and suspected cocaine in the man's vehicle. The man tried to escape during the search but was apprehended by the officers.šŸšØ

After the contraband was recovered, the man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of suspected cocaine. His home near Patricks Island was also searched by the officers. The man was charged over the weekend and is expected to appear in court today. The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) stated that this operation is part of their ongoing efforts to target individuals involved in gun and gang violence in the Cayman Islands.
