🔍 Former Premier McKeeva Bush maintains innocence in sexual assault case

Nevron Bradshaw, the lead detective in the historic sexual assault case against former Cayman Islands premier McKeeva Bush, revealed in court that Bush maintained his innocence when charged, stating, “All I have to say is that the truth will come out.” During his arrest and subsequent interview, Bush consistently responded with 'no comment', denying any knowledge of the woman making the allegation and insisting the alleged incident never happened. 🚔

The detective also shared details of his investigation, which included speaking with members of the Progressives political party (PPM), who were believed to have been present at a George Town bar on the evening of the alleged incident. However, none of the individuals approached could provide information to support the woman's claims. The woman, who reported the alleged assault to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS), had told several people about the incident before officially reporting it. These individuals, including a pastor and a church friend, testified via Zoom, corroborating her claims. 🕵️‍♂️

After presenting the final witness, the prosecution closed its case against Bush, providing the jury with a list of agreed facts, such as the ages of Bush and his accuser, the dates of Bush's arrest and charges, and his denial of the allegations. The trial continues. ⚖️
