πŸŒ€ Experts predict stormy September for hurricane season

The National Hurricane Center in Miami is keeping a close eye on three potential storms as experts anticipate a stormy September. Despite a worrying start to the hurricane season, factors such as Sahara dust clouds have subdued what was expected to be an unusually active season. However, as we approach the peak storm period in the Atlantic, experts predict that September could be particularly tempestuous. πŸŒͺ️

While some storm forecasters have reduced the overall named storm numbers for this season, they anticipate a significantly busier September. After a calm period following hurricanes Debby and Ernesto, tropical activity is predicted to increase. AccuWeather’s meteorologists continue to forecast 20 to 25 named storms throughout this Atlantic hurricane season. However, due to the recent lull in activity, they now estimate that 20-23 named storms are more likely. 🌊

On Monday, the NHC gave two tropical storms a 40% chance of development over the next week. One tropical wave was producing disorganised thunderstorms and gusty winds across parts of the Lesser Antilles, Puerto Rico and Hispaniola. Conditions are expected to become more conducive for development as the system reaches the western Caribbean Sea. Another in the far eastern Atlantic could form a tropical depression in a few days. Meanwhile, a third weak area of low pressure just offshore of the middle Texas coast was producing disorganised showers. 🌧️
