👮‍♂️ Customs officer critically injured in assault, suspect arrested

A customs officer is in critical condition following an assault at a bar on West Bay Road. The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) has launched an investigation into the attempted murder and have arrested a 21-year-old man from West Bay in connection with the incident. The victim was found lying on the ground in the Trafalgar Plaza parking lot across from Public Beach, suffering from life-threatening injuries. 🚑

The suspect was apprehended on Tuesday morning when police stopped a suspicious vehicle near the Strand Plaza. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and driving under the influence of alcohol. The police believe the assault took place in or around the Jungle Room and are appealing to any witnesses who were present at the time to come forward.
