Students from the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre (CIFEC) will be attending classes at two different locations as the new school year begins. The students have no dedicated campus due to unexplained delays in the renovation of the George Hicks site. From 16 September, practical classes will be conducted at the new John Gray High School in the afternoons, while theory sessions will be held at the Family Life Centre earlier in the day. The duration of these temporary arrangements has not been specified. šŸ“š

The Family Life Centre will also serve as a central hub for students and teachers. The education ministry and the Department of Education Services (DES) have arranged for transportation for students to and from home and between school sites. They will also provide daily free meals. CIFEC Director Mark Seerattan said the school had worked hard to identify suitable alternative sites close to each other to ensure students have access to specialist resources and space for collaboration. DES Director Mark Ray acknowledged the arrangement was unconventional, but emphasized the department's commitment to providing the best possible resources for staff and students despite the circumstances. šŸšŒ
