The Alex Panton Foundation has introduced the Cayman Kids Helpline, a dedicated resource for children and teenagers in need of support, information, or someone to talk to. The helpline was established in response to the growing need for accessible and confidential support for young individuals and their caregivers. The foundation's goal is to provide free and confidential services to help the community keep children safe, offering advice on children's mental health and support for parents and educators. šŸŽ—ļø

The Cayman Kids Helpline can be accessed through its website, app, phone line, and live text service. The phone and text lines will be open from Thursday to Sunday, 3 pm ā€“ 9 pm, staffed by trained volunteers ready to provide guidance and assistance on issues such as bullying, loneliness, academic stress, family relationships, and more. The helpline ensures anonymity, encouraging children to reach out without fear of judgement. The Alex Panton Foundation encourages parents, educators, and community members to spread awareness about the helpline and its role in providing emotional support to children and teenagers across the islands. šŸ“²

Dr Erica Lam, an executive member of the foundation, highlighted that the Kids Helpline website and app host tips, information, and advice on a range of topics such as anxiety, depression, bullying, relationships, and more. This virtual platform serves as an informational resource for those eager to support young people, as well as a user-friendly space for young individuals to learn more about their mental health. The Kids Helpline does not offer therapy or replace therapeutic services, but it provides a confidential and safe place to discuss mental health matters and serves as a referral channel, connecting young people and their caregivers to available resources. šŸ§
