🔄 Cayman Islands' WORC discontinues JobsCayman portal

The Workforce Opportunities and Residency Cayman (WORC) agency is undergoing changes including the discontinuation of its JobsCayman portal. This portal was previously a mandatory platform for posting job vacancies in Cayman where a work permit was required. The agency is also relocating its customer care department from Apollo House West to Artemis House in George Town. 🏢

The JobsCayman portal, which ceased operations recently, was designed to aid Caymanians in finding employment and to hold employers accountable when qualified locals were not hired. However, the portal faced challenges since its inception and its effectiveness in creating a transparent and accountable environment for permit granting remains unproven. A temporary site with limited online services will be launched on June 3, paving the way for the final development and testing of the new site, WORC Jobs & Online Payment Services, expected to launch on June 18. 🌐

During this transition, WORC encourages customers submitting three or more applications to use the corporate drop bag to reduce wait times. The agency also requests that only individuals with imminent travel plans request passport endorsement stamps within ten days prior to their travel. The Apollo House West will continue to house the Employment Services and Training & Development Unit for Caymanians seeking employment or training. 📑
