🌀 Cayman Islands bounce back after Tropical Storm Helene

The Cayman Islands are returning to normalcy after the departure of Tropical Storm Helene. Schools, businesses, and government services are all scheduled to reopen, indicating a swift recovery from the storm. Despite causing flooding in several areas, the islands escaped major damage as the storm remained relatively disorganised while passing through the region. 🌴

The US National Hurricane Center, in its 5:00 pm advisory, stated that Helene was 150 miles south of the western tip of Cuba, moving west-northwest at approximately 12mph. The storm, carrying winds of 50mph with higher gusts, is predicted to intensify into a hurricane and further into a major hurricane by Thursday, heading towards the Florida coast. The NHC experts have warned of a significant impact on the Big Bend coast due to the storm's size and potential intensity. 🌪️
