🌽 Cayman Islands Agricultural Society to host 55th Agriculture Show

The Cayman Islands Agricultural Society (CIAS) is gearing up to host its 55th Agriculture Show, set to take place on Ash Wednesday. The theme for this year's event is "Food Security – Everybody’s Business", a timely topic given the growing global concerns about food security, especially during emergencies and natural disasters. The society is backing the agriculture ministry’s goal to establish a local Food and Nutrition Security Policy. 🌾

CIAS President Justin Woods emphasized the importance of the event, stating that it not only celebrates the hard work of local farmers but also highlights the crucial role everyone plays in ensuring community well-being through food security. The event, which is a popular annual family affair, will showcase the best of local farming and agribusiness. Attendees are encouraged to support initiatives related to food prices, shortages, and nutritional security. The show will take place at the Stacey Watler Agricultural Pavilion in Lower Valley, Bodden Town. 🚜

To accommodate the expected large turnout, Park N’ Ride locations have been set up to ensure a smooth flow of traffic. Signage will direct the public to these locations, and shuttle services will be available to transport attendees directly to the pavilion. The event promises to be a significant occasion to promote local food security and the importance of supporting local agriculture. 🍏
