🏫 Cayman Brac to open adult training centre for those with additional needs

The Cayman Brac Adult Training Centre (CBATC), a facility designed to support adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and additional learning support needs (ALSN), will open its doors on 16 September. The centre will offer services similar to the Sunrise Adult Training Centre on Grand Cayman. Located near the Creek and Spot Bay Infant School, the CBATC aims to provide invaluable resources and opportunities to its clients, enabling them to lead more independent and fulfilling lives. 🏒

Unlike the Sunrise Centre, the CBATC will fall under the Ministry of District Administration, led by Premier Juliana O’Connor-Connolly. The centre will work closely with Sunrise to leverage programmes and resources. The CBATC will operate Monday through Friday, with two full-time staff members and additional staff to be recruited based on client needs. The centre will offer a range of programmes to help clients develop functional life skills, basic vocational training, and support services. It also aims to provide a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for individuals to reach their full potential and actively participate in their communities. πŸ“š

Eligible residents of Cayman Brac are invited to participate in the registration process on 31 July at the District Administration Annex Building #1. A dedicated team will be on Cayman Brac to assist with enrollment and answer any questions. The establishment of the CBATC marks a milestone in the community's commitment to supporting all members, according to Premier O’Connor-Connolly. πŸŽ“
