🏝️ Cayman Brac residents secure top public sector roles

Two residents of Cayman Brac, Joshua Burke and Valentine Shavon Bodden, have been appointed to senior roles within the Cayman Islands public sector. Burke will take on the role of airport manager at the Charles Kirkonnell International Airport, a position announced by the Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA). Bodden, on the other hand, has been appointed as the member services officer (MSO) for the Public Service Pensions Board (PSPB) in its Cayman Brac office. 🏢

Burke, who joined the CIAA in October 2002, boasts over 21 years of experience in the aviation industry. He holds multiple certifications in air traffic control and is one of only four controllers in the Cayman Islands with his level of ratings. The CIAA expressed excitement over Burke's appointment, highlighting his maturity, capability, and potential to bring a different perspective to the leadership at CKIA. Meanwhile, Bodden, who joined the PSPB in late 2023, has completed rigorous training in pension administration, system workflows, calculations, and pension processes. Her role will involve supporting the nearly 700 individual plan members on Cayman Brac. ✈️👩‍💼

Both Burke and Bodden are expected to bring their extensive experience and local knowledge to their respective roles. Their appointments are seen as a significant step in ensuring that key public sector roles on Cayman Brac are filled by individuals who have a deep understanding of the local community and its needs. 🎯🌴
