🚨 Brazen robbery occurs near West Bay Police Station

Two masked men boldly robbed a local grocery store at gunpoint on Thursday night, just steps away from the West Bay Police Station. The suspects, later identified as a 21-year-old from George Town and a 26-year-old from North Side, were apprehended shortly after the incident with an undisclosed amount of cash. The robbery took place around 7:30pm when the armed men, dressed in hoodies, entered the convenience store on Reverend Blackman Road and demanded cash and cigarettes. 🚔

One of the suspects approached the store manager with a firearm, demanding cash from the register and cigarettes. The second suspect approached a cashier at a money transfer station at the rear of the store and also demanded cash. After leaving the store with their loot, a 911 call led police to a location in Powery Road, West Bay, where the suspects were acting suspiciously. With assistance from a police helicopter, officers located the suspects, seized the cash, and impounded what is believed to be the getaway car. 🚁

The suspects are currently being held at the Fairbanks detention centre while the investigation continues. This daring robbery, occurring so close to a police station, has raised concerns about public safety and the audacity of criminals. 🚨
