🔥 Boat crews and tourists tackle Starfish Point fire

Quick-thinking boat crews and tourists from Captain Marvin’s and Sweet Spot Watersports were hailed as heroes after they successfully extinguished a brush fire at Starfish Point on Tuesday evening. The fire started around 6:30pm and spread rapidly due to dry conditions at the popular beach spot. The crews and their guests, realizing the imminent danger, bravely jumped into the sea to fill bins and buckets with water to douse the flames. 🌊

The Cayman Islands Fire Service was alerted, but their response was delayed due to a locked gate blocking land access. However, the boat crews and tourists managed to put out the fire before the firefighters arrived. The fire was reported extinguished around 7:30pm, with no injuries reported. The owner of Captain Marvin’s, Ronnie Anglin, expressed his gratitude to all those involved, particularly his guests, in a social media post. 🙏
